Since our last AGM
Let’s take a look down memory lane since the last AGM, reflect on our achievements, and support for community projects

Our dedicated RTAI team of committee and members have delivered information and community programs to engage individuals, children and adults, to assist and help develop their life skills.

March 2023 – Gala RTAI high profile International Women’s Day event to recognise the work and dedication of 15 women NSW Women’s Contribution Awards. Categories: Health, Resilience, Empowerment and Women’s Opportunity awards.

Thanks to politicians from federal, state and local government who presented awards to winners. We are grateful for the wide media support received to publicise this event from online streaming to TV, radio interviews and news releases. The RTAI team of volunteers used their professional know-how to event manage this meaningful celebration.

May - Sept 2023 - Inspire to Lead - Leadership in CALD communities.

Three members, Brittany, Julie and Sarah, met with enthusiastic leaders and members of ethnic communities from across Greater Sydney, to give presentations to engage in cultural exchange.

RTAI would like to thank Willoughby City Council, event manager, Dinaz Rather, and workshop facilitator, Om Dhungel, for their marathon, sustained effort in this course, which included site visits to key religious and cultural centres across metropolitan Sydney. Om, enthralled the group with his own story, told in book publication, Bhutan to Blacktown - Losing Everything and Finding Australia.

This important cross-cultural learning experience was inspiring to enrich our understanding of the diverse ancestral and migrant fabric of Australian society.

The meetings opened opportunities for enquiry, discussion, gain insight, and learn skills and knowledge in multicultural ‘CALD’ leadership. CALD - Culturally and Linguistically Diverse, is the new Australian term to describe multicultural communities.

September 2023 – RTAI and Morning Light Care’s Seminar on Dementia support. We'd like to thank its director Gerald Cheung and Willoughby Mosaic.
How to Care for Someone with Dementia

It has been a success for young students learning in our Mandarin language program at Castle Cove Public School. Feedback from students and their families gives us inspiration to keep encouraging youngsters to learn a second language - whether a completely new language to their ancestral background from different continents and islands, or the native mother tongue of parents and grandparents.

Our children will be tomorrow’s global citizens. Some famous celebrities who speak fluent Mandarin are Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Kevin Rudd (former Australian Prime Minister), Park Geun-hye (former president of South Korea), Mira Sorvino (American actress and Global Globe award winner) and Takeshi Kaneshiro a famous Japanese-Taiwanese actor and singer speaks Mandarin, Japanese, Cantonese, English and Taiwanese. In the movie Dragon (武俠 Wǔ xiá), he spoke Mandarin.

Enrol now for a bright future with Mandarin speech, reading, writing and translating capabilities.
